Allow performance form to be set as option for employee to complete
In the performance module, employees can be asked to fill in a check-in before a conversation. Often the employee doesn’t fill it in, even though the conversation itself still takes place. For the organisation, having the conversation matters more than filling in the form. Right now an unfilled check-in stops the conversation from being completed.
Desired solution:
A setting on the evaluation form to mark the employee check-in as optional instead of required
When it’s optional, the manager can complete the conversation whether or not the employee filled in the check-in
If the employee does fill it in, it works and shows as it does today
Current behavior:
The employee check-in is always required
A performance conversation can only be completed once the check-in is filled in
If the check-in is still empty, the conversation stays open, even though it has already taken place
Impact:
Conversations that took place still show as open, so progress and completion figures aren’t reliable
Managers can’t close their conversations properly
Extra follow-up work chasing check-ins that add little at that point
Use case:
An organisation sets up a check-in form for its performance conversations and marks the employee part as optional. A manager has a planned conversation with an employee who didn’t fill in the check-in. The conversation goes ahead, and afterwards the manager marks it as completed, so it’s recorded correctly in the cycle.
